Marney Toole has been honored for her work at the Martha’s Vineyard Family Center.

According to a press release from The Children’s Trust, a family support organization, Mrs. Toole received the third annual Frances Litman Leadership Award. The award is named after a late member of the Children’s Trust board of directors who was an advocate for children and families.

Mrs. Toole is the family network/family services coordinator at the family center, which is operated by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services and has received funding from the Children’s Trust.

“Marney, you and the amazing program you run mean a lot not only to the families of Martha’s Vineyard, but to your Children’s Trust family, as well,” said Jack Miller, Deputy Director of Programs at the Children’s Trust, in a press release.

Mr. Miller said Mrs. Toole often takes an early morning ferry to attend meetings at the Children’s Trust in Boston.

“Marney has a real strength in partnering with parents – the success of her Parent Advisory Council, her ongoing cultivation of parents, and the way she helps build parents into true leaders, are all things that make her a real stand out,” he said.
