Island Grown Farm, a program of Island Grown Initiative, announces its first winter CSA. Shares contain enough salad to feed a family of four for a week and include salad greens, cooking greens, micro greens, cucumbers, peppers, fresh basil as well as other produce growing in the greenhouse.

For the first year only 30 members can be accepted. Organizers hope to grow the CSA over the next few years to include winter storage produce from local farmers and from the high schools with the goal of making fresh local produce available to Islanders year round.

Full, half and monthly shares are available. Full shares are $600 for five months. Sliding scale, work-trade arrangements are available and encouraged. Shares can be donated to a deserving family, the local food pantry or as a holiday gift. To sign up for a share or for additional information, call 508-687-9621 or email Zach Dowd at zach@islandgrown.org.
