The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $1,079,470 for the business week ending on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Edgartown, where six transactions resulted in $600,590. Three transactions in West Tisbury generated $231,600. One transaction yielded $130,000 in Aquinnah. One transaction resulted in $88,500 in Chilmark. Two transactions in Tisbury netted $19,100. And one transaction earned $9,680 in Oak Bluffs.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,243 acres of Vineyard land.
