On Saturday, March 14, from 8 a.m. to noon, the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital hosts its 20th annual Health Fair. The fair offers an opportunity for free screenings for cholesterol, melanoma, auditory, blood pressure and your body mass index. New this year is a presentation on the importance of childhood immunizations by Dr. Vandana Madhavan from Massachusetts General Hospital at 10 a.m., and at 9 a.m. an explanation of the hospital’s new Baby Friendly Initiative by the nurse manager of the maternity department Joyce Capobianco.

The hospital’s director of development Rachel Vanderhoop said the popular massage demonstration returns and mvyradio will broadcast live from the hospital for a couple of hours, highlighting some of the events.

“There will be information on foster parenting, the Red Cross, the Donor Dudes will have information on organ donors,” Ms. Vanderhoop said. She added that they will be giving away Laurie David’s most recent cookbook, The Family Cooks, which provides lots of healthy recipes.
