Spring is getting better by the day, with temperatures in the 60s most of the week. Families are arriving for the school vacation to open their summer homes, a few are vacationing elsewhere while school is out. More restaurants and businesses are opening. Josh Aronie and his food truck continue serving lunch each day at the Chilmark Store lot. Enjoy.

Chilmark Chocolates will be opening for the season on Thursday, April 30 — time to stock up for and avoid the crowds.

Aquinnah fire chief Simon Bollin, the Aquinnah and Chilmark fire departments, and Tri-Town EMS participated in a drill on Sunday morning. They learned how to safely extricate victims from a rolled over vehicle; however the vehicle had been impaled by one of those mysterious pine trees that jump out in front of you on occasion. The lesson was very informative and more will certainly attend others in the future.
