The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society is accepting applications for its newly reinstated grant program.

Island farmers who are dedicated to improving quality of life and furthering the sustainability of the Island’s agricultural community are eligible to apply. Special consideration will be given to innovative approaches to needs or problems that are unable to receive funding through traditional sources. Grants will only be awarded to agricultural society members. Interested individuals or organizations are invited to submit a concise proposal describing a specific project, its potential benefits, budgetary requirements, and the grant amount requested.

The first round of proposals will be reviewed on May 15, and a second round will be reviewed June 1.

The agricultural society is a nonprofit organization created in 1859 and funded by contributions from membership and supporters who attend community events.

Proposals can be mailed to the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society, P.O. Box 73, West Tisbury, MA 02575 or emailed to marthasvineyardagsociety@gmail.com.
