A trio of Central Connecticut State University women’s lacrosse players were recently named to the Northeast Conference Second Team. The announcement was made at the annual postseason banquet prior to the start of the NEC tournament.

The university ended the season with a 6-0 overall record and a 3-4 mark in NEC play, tying for fourth place. The Blue Devils lost out on the tie-breaker and missed the tournament, despite wins in the final week over two NEC Tournament participants — Mount St. Mary’s and Wagner.

On Thursday night seniors Morgan Tullar and Jessica Sudock, as well as junior Madison Hughes from the Vineyard, were all named to the NEC Second Team. Hughes is also an All-Conference pick for the second straight season. She was a First Team pick as a sophomore. In 2015 she led the team with 24 goals scored and also led the team with 30 total points on the season. She was the team leader in ground balls (35), third in draw controls (29), first in caused turnovers (22) and started all 16 games on the season.
