Fall is still a season or two away, but the producers of the Martha’s Vineyard Food & Wine Festival are already asking would-be gourmands and sommeliers to save the date for the eighth annual festival, which will take place Oct. 15 through 18.

This year the festival will have new co-producers, Nevette Previd and Amy Foster Devore, who have ample experience in the Vineyard events field. Ms. Previd and Ms. Devore are working on a culinary celebration that will be rooted in the Island’s farming and fishing traditions. More than 2,000 food and wine afficionados are expected to come for the four-day feast.

The festival was founded in 2007 by the Edgartown Board of Trade, and proceeds go to local charities, including the Island Grown Schools program.
