Timothy Moriarty has joined the West Tisbury law office of George B. Brush as an associate attorney, the firm announced. Mr. Moriarty will focus on criminal defense, civil litigation, estate planning, landlord tenant issues and other legal work.

A fourth generation family attorney and 1999 graduate of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, Mr. Moriarty obtained his law degree from Suffolk Law School in Boston in 2008. He practiced law in western Massachusetts for four years before returning to the Vineyard in 2012, where he opened his own practice. His experience includes work in the district and superior courts in Edgartown.

He is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Bar Association, Dukes County Bar Association, Dukes County Bar Advocates Inc. and the Barnstable Bar Advocates Inc.

He is married to Liz Anderson, an Island native and nurse practitioner at Island Health Care; they make their home in Chilmark with their two-year-old twins. Tim is also a member of the Martha’s Vineyard Rod and Gun Club and an avid fisherman.
