It is a big week for symposiums on the Vineyard. so get out the date book.

On Monday, August 17, The Opportunity Agenda hosts Changing the Script: Media, Culture and Black Lives from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Harbor View Hotel. The panelists include actor, producer and humanitarian Danny Glover; author, producer and writer Issa Rae; and artist, organizer and co-founder of #BlackLivesMatters, Patrisse Cullors.

On Wednesday, The Advancement Project hosts Black and Blue: Policing the Color Line, a discussion on race and police in America. Panelists include Ras Baraka, mayor of Newark, N.J., Angela Glover Blackwell, executive director of PolicyLink, Raj Jayadev, founder of the AC Justice Project, and many more. The event is from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.

On Thursday, The Hutchins Forum hosts Black Millennials: They Rock, but Can They Rule? at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown. The event begins at 5 p.m. and is moderated by Charlayne Hunter-Gault, hosted Henry Louis Gates Jr., and features panelists Charles F. Coleman Jr., Alicia Garza, Janaye Ingram, Dion Rabouin and Orlando Watson.
