Eleven years ago, the folks at Featherstone discovered their artistic sweet tooth when they hosted the first Art of Chocolate festival. In hindsight it makes perfect sense, as both things make life more fun — art and sugar.

This weekend Featherstone celebrates its 12th chocolate festival with tasty chocolate concoctions made by Island bakers, artists and chocolate lovers. While the chocolate fountain is a fan favorite, the festival has everything. There will be chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate truffles and the chocolate fountain, plus cookies, ice cream sundaes and croissants. Everything will be beautiful to look at, but this art is meant to be eaten. Two tastes for $5 and five tastes for $10.

The festival begins on Friday night with a preview party and continues on Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. on both days.
