Blizzard? I think we had that one under control. The funniest post I saw on Facebook was a scene of southern drivers slipping and sliding and not handling their four inches of snow very well. Then there was a shot of a man in Massachusetts who had hollowed out a patio area in about eight feet of snow, and was sitting at a barbecue grill and asking, “How do you want your burger?”

Summer resident Kim Stokes Beal has a job I envy. She works at the Mark Twain House in Hartford, Conn. He is one of my absolute favorites. Kim has very nicely sent me some of his great quotes. If you can get off-Island this winter I suggest you make a visit to the home of one of our favorite humorists. Kim will fill you in.

Get well wishes and prayers to the light of my life, Teri Praskach.

May I be condemned to be behind a stalled car at Five Corners on Memorial Day Weekend for forgetting to put in my very young new friend’s Jan. 17 birthday. That would be the newly one-year-old Emmalee Ward.

Scott, a debonair 101 years old, and Sasha Robinson White and Lisa Nichols; Jan. 31 is shared by Kelly McElhinney and Jarrett Campbell; Feb. 1 shines on Beau Eric Lindersen; Feb. 2 is a party for James Ralston, Alena Shisko, Lucia Ponte and Rex Henry Grant; Feb. 3 is claimed by Joan Jannace, Jennifer Roman, Jeff Rancourt and Michael Sylvia; and on Feb. 4 Roni DeLuz and Theresa Kean take the cake. Many happy returns.
