What is there to say about the weather? Snow. That about covers it. Happy birthday to all those who celebrated their day these past two weeks. Big balloons go out to Anna Rodrigues and Kathleen Vieira Da Silva, who celebrated Jan. 31; Kevin Ramos, Feb. 4; Aiden Rogers, Feb. 6; Stefano Avansini and Aliyah Fournier, Feb. 7; Geovane Meikle and Camden Townes, Feb. 8; Liam Decker, Feb. 9; Franchesca Carlos, Amanda Moraes, and Maksim Pachico, Feb. 11; and to Kayleigh Boyd and Sophie Decker, who celebrate their birthday Friday Feb. 12.

Caitlin Crossland, daughter of Jody and the late Alan, was married Tuesday, Feb. 8, on Fuller Street Beach to Greg Belcher of Martha's Vineyard Regional High School football fame. This event was scheduled for Monday, however conditions warranted a delay. The bride and groom looked spectacular in their go-to-meeting clothes, despite the necessary galoshes. Congratulations.

Congratulations to Elaine (Mercier) Graves who is now the human resource officer at the town hall. I guess I missed it as she started the job in November.

Also congratulations to Jess McGroarty, who heads the parks department, which entails both the parks and beaches. Keep in mind it is also time to start hiring lifeguards.

You can keep in mind also that Marion Santos is our town nurse. She is in Edgartown on Feb. 18, at the Anchors from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. There is also a town nursing clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Edgartown town hall from 9 to 11 a.m.

It was like old home week last Sunday at the Stop & Shop. Between the snowstorm and Super Bowl everyone was there. I saw people I had not seen in months, and it took me an hour and half to shop and talk. The lines for the registers (not the ladies' fault) were very long, with everyone stocking up for both events.

The employees were doing their best to keep everyone satisfied and I have to praise the cashiers because they never stopped.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
