Jenny Allen and special guest Diana Muldaur Dozier (you remember her from the infamous elevator scene in L.A. Law) will host a tribute to the late playwright Garson Kanin at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.

Ms. Allen is the author of Would Everyone Please Stop? and Ms. Muldaur Dozier is an Island born actress who was nominated for three Emmy Awards during her long acting career that stretches back to the Rockford Files and Bonanza and also as Dr. Katherine Pulaski during the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

They make the perfect duo to bring Garson Kanin back to life. Mr. Kanin was married to actress Ruth Gordon (Harold and Maude, Every Which Way But Loose, among many others) and the two collaborated on numerous projects including the Spencer Tracy/Katharine Hepburn films Adam’s Rib and Pat and Mike. The couple were also long-time Islanders, making this performance a very local affair.

As part of Jenny’s Drama Salon, Ms. Allen and Ms. Muldaur Dozier will recreate a scene from one of Mr. Kanin’s plays, as well as serve homemade birthday treats. Tickets are $10. Visit mvplayhouse.org.
