Two people were transported to the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and treated for minor injuries after a head-on collision at the intersection of Barnes Road and the West Tisbury Road Monday afternoon, Edgartown police said.

Dylan Sisco, 24, of West Tisbury, was charged with negligent operation of a vehicle and failure to yield, Edgartown police chief Bruce McNamee told the Gazette by phone Tuesday.

Police, fire and EMS responded to the crash just after 4:15 p.m., according to a police report written by officer Michael O’Rourke.

Mr. Sisco, driving a Ford F-550 dump truck owned by EC Cottle Inc. was eastbound on the Edgartown-West Tisbury Road when he began to turn left onto Barnes Road, according to the report. He was struck by a westbound Ford F-250 Transit van, owned by Atlantic Pool and operated by Leonardo DaSilva, the report said.

Mr. DaSilva, who was carrying a passenger, Marcos De Almeida Dias, struck the rear right side of Mr. Sisco’s vehicle, according to the police report. When Officer O’Rourke arrived on scene, EMS were treating Mr. DaSilva and Mr. De Almeida Dias in a black Kia sedan operated by a witness to the collision, according to the report. Mr. Sisco sustained no apparent injuries, the report said.

The two men driving the Atlantic Pool van were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Chief McNamee said. They were questioned later by Officer O’Rourke, the police report said.

Mr. Sisco was found at fault and cited by police.
