The Martha’s Vineyard Branch of the NAACP will hold a panel discussion, Subtle Acts of Microaggression, on Sunday, March 17, at 2 p.m., at the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center.

The event will be moderated by Carole Copeland Thomas, a speaker and consultant with extensive national and international experience in issues related to working people and workplaces. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in small-group discussion about how to identify and prevent microaggressions.

Microaggressions are the everyday slights, insults, putdowns, invalidations and offensive behaviors directed toward members of marginalized groups by people who may or may not be conscious of what they’re doing.

The Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center is located at 130 Center street, Vineyard Haven.
