John Cavallo Sr., 84, Was Resident of Edgartown

John Cavallo Sr. of Edgartown died on August 31 at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital after a brief illness. He was 84 years old.

Mr. Cavallo was born in New York city on Nov. 13, 1917, to James and Mary Cavallo. He had 12 brothers and sisters; all but his sister, Lucy, predeceased him.

Mr. Cavallo vacationed on the Vineyard from 1949 to 1986, when he retired here after 46 years with the Bulova Watch Co. "The Tiger," as he was affectionately known, was a devout Yankees fan.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Tina, and four sons, John Jr. and his wife, Bari, of Parker, Colo., Gino of Mt. Kisco, N.Y., Robert (Coo) and his wife, Donna Goodale, and Ronald (Puppy) and his wife, Diana Rabaioli, of Edgartown. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Lisa Britt, Karen Carey, and Luke, Jonas and Amos Cavallo, and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral arrangements were by the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs. Contributions in Mr. Cavallo's name may be made to the Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
