Jane Connor Douglas

Jane Conner Douglas, wife of the late Edward M. Douglas, died on Dec. 25 at her West Chop home.

She was born in Rye, N.Y., and was graduated from the Ethel Walker School and worked in New York city. In 1943 she joined the Red Cross and served in Algiers and France. After the war she went to Japan and worked for Gen. Edwin Seibert. After two years she returned, married Mr. Douglas and settled on the Vineyard. Here, she volunteered at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital and started its gift shop. She worked with the Boy Scouts while her stepson, Ted, was growing up. She loved animals and her hobbies included cooking and gardening.

A simple memorial service will be held in the spring.
