James F. Barry, 62, Was a Registered Pharmacist

James F. Barry, 62, of Edgartown, formerly of Winthrop, died on June 9 at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in Winthrop, the son of Eleanor F. (Douglass) Barry and the late Edmund W. Barry. Mr. Barry was a graduate of Winthrop High School and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He worked for more than 30 years as a registered pharmacist and was a member of the Massachusetts Independent Pharmicists Association. He was an associate member of the Farm Neck Golf Club.

He was the brother of Marie Miner of Hyannis, Edmund W. Barry Jr. of Winthrop, Thomas L. Barry of Danvers, Paul D. Barry of Emanus, Pa., Nancy A. Oncavage of Miami, Fla., and Richard J. Barry of Lynn. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the O'Maley Funeral Home in Winthrop on Thursday, June 12, followed by a funeral mass in the Church of St. John the Evangelist. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery.
