Katherine (K.C.) Willauer, Summered in West Chop

Katherine Chamberlin (K.C.) Willauer, 91, widow of Eliot B. Willauer and a resident of the Hunt Community in Nashua, N.H., died Thursday, Oct. 14. A resident of Nashua since 1978, she was born in Boston on May 28, 1913, a daughter of the late Lafayette R. and Sara E. (Hewins) Chamberlin.

Mrs. Willauer attended Winchester public schools, the Madeira School in Washington, D.C. and Smith College in Northampton. A homemaker for most of her life, she was an avid gourmet cook and baker, loved to do needlepoint and knitting. She was a former manager of the men's department of Franklin Simon department store and was a banker for Crossroads Restaurant, both in Westport, Conn., where she made her home for several years. She also summered in West Chop in Vineyard Haven, where she enjoyed sailing. She was a member of the Vineyard Haven Yacht Club of which her husband Elly served as commodore for a number of years.

Members of her family include two sons, Andrew M. Willauer and his wife Lynda of Easton, Conn. and Nantucket, and Eliot B. Willauer Jr. of Pearl City, Hawaii; eight grandchildren, Jennifer H. Willauer, Emily A. Willauer, Natasha Willauer Harman, Jason Harman, Andrew M. Willauer Jr., Julie Willauer Saturnio, Conrad Saturnio and Eliot B. Willauer 3rd; and a sister, Mrs. Priscilla Neill, or Winchester. She was predeceased by a sister, Mrs. Lee Macomber of Nashua, whose daughters, Susan Macomber and Sara Macomber Sutcliffe were lovingly attentive to their Aunt K.C. for decades.
