Patricia M. Buckley, 49, Was Native of Vineyard

Patricia M. Buckley, a life-long resident of the Vineyard, has lost her fight to cancer. She died peacefully with her family on May 27. She was 49.

Pat was the daughter of George Luce and Helen Estabrook. She also was blessed to have a step-father who adored her, Delmont (Ralph) Estabrook.

Pat was raised in Edgartown. After marrying her husband, they bought a home in Oak Bluffs. Pat spent most of her life helping others. She worked at the old long-term care and at Windemere. She became a household engineer after leaving the health care field 10 years ago. She was happiest being at her home and tending her garden and bringing her two dogs to the park. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband on the motorcycles.

Pat is survived by the love of her life, her husband Frederick H. Buckley 3rd of Oak Bluffs; her mother, Helen Estabrook of Vineyard Haven; her son, Paul Willoughby Jr. of Colorado; her daughter, Lisa Willoughby of Oak Bluffs; her sisters, Brenda Weitzel of Minnesota and Sandra Luce of Edgartown; two grandsons, two nephews, a niece and her two dogs, Hooch and Hannah; and many close friends.

There will be a candlelight vigil on Saturday, June 4, at sunset at Waban Park in Oak Bluffs in celebration of Pat's life. Because Pat loved the roar of the engines all motorcycles are welcomed. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed. Arrangements are under the care of the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home.
