Sanford Roeser, 73, Was Formerly of Oak Bluffs

Sanford (Sandy) Roeser of Plymouth, formerly of Oak Bluffs, died on August 5 at Carney Hospital in Boston. He was 73 years old.

He was born on October 31, 1931 in Jamaica, N.Y. to Dorothea (Murray) and Elmer Roeser. He received a master's degree in education at Allegany College. Later, his work included being the founder and president of American Boarding School Placement Ltd. and working for the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, N.J. for 20 years. He enjoyed sailing, trains and traveling.

He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia deVeer (McCombs) of Plymouth and his daughters, Sandylu of Rockland, Me., Carrie Taylor and husband Sean of Hopewell, N.J., Katherine Ruzicka and husband Richard of Parker, Colo., Danapel C. deVeer of Brighton and Drusilla L. deVeer of Los Angeles, Calif. He also leaves three grandchildren - Peter, Megan and Shaye.

There are no visiting hours and services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet.
