Elaine Harper White, a resident of Jenkintown, Pa. and Oak Bluffs, died at her home, on Dec. 30. She was the beloved wife of Quentin M. White.

Born in Wheeling, W.V., she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Vera Harper.

Elaine graduated from the Barnes Foundation and the Horticultural and Communications Schools of Temple University.

She was a member of The Philadelphia chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and served as regent. She served as vice president of The Deshler Morris House Committee, also known as The Germantown White House. She was a member of the Modern Club at Sweetbriar Mansion, the Lydia Morris Society and the Harrison Society of the University of Pennsylvania. Elaine was a longtime guide and supporter of the Morris Arboretum.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband, Brian Knowles; by her son, Gregory White and by four granddaughters and a grandson.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, Old York and Vista Roads in Jenkintown, where Elaine was a long-time member. The date and time of the service will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania, Development Office, 100 E. Northwestern avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118.
