Scott A. Francis of Edgartown died unexpectedly on Dec. 27. He was 48. He was born on August 13, 1965 in Oak Bluffs. The Island was Scott’s home and it’s where he loved to be. He was a plumber for most of his young adult life. Scott spent his free time doing what he loved — refurbishing vehicles, spending time with his friends and family, and being with the ocean. The ocean was his favorite place to be, whether he was swimming, fishing, clamming or crabbing.

Scott more than enjoyed the simplicities of life. His family fulfilled him, especially his children, of whom he was extremely proud.

Mahoney of Edgartown, his three children: Caitlyn, Kyle and Nathan Francis, and their mother Elexis Wildanger and her husband Eric of Oak Bluffs. He is also survived by four siblings: Robert J. Francis Jr. and his wife Karen of West Tisbury; Shawna Chipperfield and her husband David of Edgartown; LuAnne Bettencourt of Seattle; and Desiree Terry and her husband Nathan of Pembroke, and by his loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
