Patricia J. Maseda of Oak Bluffs died peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 81.

Jane was born in Oak Bluffs on June 19, 1933 to Joseph and Ruth Combra. She graduated from Oak Bluffs High School.

She was the beloved wife of Antone (Tony) M. Maseda Jr., with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Jane started her bookkeeping career at H.C. Hancock, then went on to keeping the books for Antone M. Maseda Builders. When her children were grown and the business was retired, she went to work for the Oak Bluffs library. She was a CCD teacher for Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, which she was a member of for many years.

Jane enjoyed knitting, reading and cooking. She also enjoyed hosting many family gatherings and is most remembered for her Christmas Eve open houses.

Besides her devoted husband Tony, Jane was survived by her son James M. Maseda and his wife Wendy of Oak Bluffs, her daughter Antoinette Reid and her husband Jeffrey of Pawtucket, R.I.; her sister Gladys Welch of Vineyard Haven, her brothers Charles Combra of South Attleboro, and Warren Combra and his wife Maxine of Manchester, Conn. She was also survived by her grandchildren Evan Reid and friend Melanie Devaney of Pawtucket,R.I., Randolph Reid and friend Cristen DiSpirito of Grafton, Brendan Maseda of Oak Bluffs and Austin Reid of Pawtucket, R.I. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Maseda.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 16, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Bluffs, followed by a potluck reception at the Portuguese-American Club.
