Patricia Boak died on August 21 in Hackettstown, N.J., after a brief illness. She was 90.

Born Patricia Scarry in Morristown, on Dec. 28, 1923, she grew up in Summit, graduating from Summit High School and later from the College of St. Elizabeth with a degree in home economics. These skills would be the trademark of the rest of her life. She met Robert Boak at the Summit Playhouse in 1947, was married in 1948, and raised two sons, Robert Jr. and Peter, in Basking Ridge, where Patsy and Bob lived for 57 years before moving to Heath Village in Hackettstown in 2004.

Pat was an active member of Bishop Janes United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. An avid cook, gardener, quilter and crossword puzzle solver, she loved spending time with friends and family and summers in the family cottage at Lagoon Heights on Martha’s Vineyard. Patsy and Bob celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year.

Interment will be private. A memorial service is being planned in October for friends and relatives to reflect on the joyous life of this truly caring and giving woman.

Memorial gifts may be made to Bishop Janes United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 383, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, or the Friendship Fund of Heath Village, 430 Schooleys Mountain Road, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
