Charles (Charlie) E. Gaffey Jr. of Waltham died Dec. 7. Charlie was born and raised in Watertown, resided in Waltham and summered in Oak Bluffs.

He was the loving son of the late Charles E. Sr. and Elizabeth Rhae (Cutter) Gaffey. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Charlie was the devoted brother of Dick and his wife Ruth Gaffey of Medfield; Bob and his wife Kathy Gaffey of Oak Bluffs; Beth Allee of Waltham; Anne and her husband Jack Conte of Belmont, and Marylynn and her husband Joe Antonellis of Belmont. He is also survived by 13 loving nieces and nephews, 18 great-nieces and nephews, and many loving dear friends and family. He will be missed by his many loving black Labs.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral service from the Gaffey Funeral Home, 43 High street, Medford Square in Medford on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass held in St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m.
