Elizabeth Adams Tresselt of Madison, Ct., died peacefully at home on August 16. She was 83.

Elizabeth was a beloved and respected teacher in Madison for 27 years, having touched many young lives and minds. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Madison, having served as deaconess, Sunday school teacher and as a member of numerous committees. She was also a proud member of the Madison Garden Club.

Born in Edgartown on Nov. 22, 1931, she was predeceased by her parents James and Beatrice Adams, and her brother Kenneth Carter.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Louis C. Tresselt Jr.; her daughter Susan Healey and her husband Michael; son David Tresselt; nephew Jim Carter and his wife Debbie; nieces Penny Townes and her husband Gene, and Susan Burns and her husband Chris; and grandsons Ryan and Justin Healey.

A memorial service will be scheduled at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Madison.
