Funeral Mass Saturday for Donald R. Billings

Donald R. Billings of Oak Bluffs died on Wednesday evening, Nov. 4 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. He was 84 and the beloved husband of Nancy (Knight) Billings.

His funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church on Massasoit avenue in Oak Bluffs on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be offered by the Veterans of Martha’s Vineyard at the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Vineyard avenue, and a tribute will be offered by the Oak Bluffs Fire Department.

Following the services family and friends will gather at the Portuguese American Club in Oak Bluffs.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group, PO Box 1552, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557.

Donald was a very special man with a warm heart, huge smile and absolute kindness. We will always remember him for his passion in life, his love of his family and his selfless acts of kindness.
