We know this season in our bones. In the days around Those few leaves that were left as a valiant but futile rear-guard on the gray branches of trees have fallen. Beaches are lonely and wind-pierced places. Lights appear on the streets of the village centers and a panoply of holiday activities await Islanders in the weekends ahead.
