One new case of Covid-19 was confirmed Thursday from a test administered by Martha's Vineyard Hospital, as the Island's infection rate remains low. Starting Monday, people 60 years of age and older will be eligible to sign up for vaccinations, under a schedule unveiled this week by the state.

Two more people tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, and the Island boards of health reported one additional probable case based on symptoms. The cases bring to 1,003 the total number of people confirmed or believed to have contracted the coronavirus since the pandemic began a year ago.

The Island boards of health reported one new positive test for Covid-19 Tuesday, as the Island's rate of infection continued to slow. The test was conducted at Martha's Vineyard Hospital.  There are 510 tests pending results between the hospital and TestMV, which tests asymptomatic people.

Three more confirmed cases of Covid-19 and two probable cases were reported Monday by the Island boards of health. One person tested positive for the virus at TestMV on Saturday, and two others tested positive at Martha's Vineyard Hospital, one on Sunday and one on Monday. There are 585 tests outstanding at the two testing sites. One person is hospitalized.

The Island boards of health reported one new positive test Friday for Covid-19, ending a week in which just six new cases were confirmed on Martha's Vineyard, the lowest weekly number since early October. In its weekly report, the boards of health said there are 21 active cases on the Island, and one person remains hospitalized.

Health agents reported zero new cases of the coronavirus on the Island Thursday, continuing a marked decline in the Covid-19 positive test rate. There are 694 tests pending, and one patient is currently hospitalized with the virus.
