Aquinnah police and fire celebrated the first ever Public Safety Day Saturday. The event included demonstrations and the opportunity for a close-up view of police, fire and rescue equipment.

There was also a pinning ceremony to honor those who helped last month's rescue of Christoper MacLeod, who had a heart attack.

The combined services of the departments on hand were put to the test last month during a dramatic CPR rescue. Tri-Town ambulance chief Zeke Wilkins spoke during a pinning ceremony honoring the many individuals who helped save the life of Christopher McCloud of Chilmark, who had a heart attack. - See more at: http://mvgazette.com/news/2014/07/26/celebrating-rescuers-aquinnah-publi...
