The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

April 17

William T. Irwin, 22, of Cranford, N.J., admitted to sufficient facts on a June 6 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to lose license for 45 days and to complete a 24-day driver alcohol education program and to pay $600 in fees and a $65 monthly probation services fee. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and found not responsible on a charge of speeding.

James B. Mullin, 25, of Edgartown, will have an Oct. 20 charge in Vineyard Haven of littering trash dismissed if $100 in court costs are paid by May 8. According to a police report filed in court, Mr. Mullin allegedly came to the Tisbury police station to be served with a restraining order, and when officers later left the station, they observed a large amount of shredded paper in the area where department vehicles are parked. Police said it became evident that this was the defendant’s copy of the restraining order.
