The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Dec. 29

Christopher S. Francis, 42, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Oct. 7 charges in Edgartown of trespassing and two counts of assault and battery. Pretrial hearing continued to Feb. 17.

Jan. 5

Lindenberg Baessa, also known as Joao Lopis-Deoliveira, 37, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Jan. 3 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery, threat to commit a crime, and arrestee furnishing false name/SSN. Bail set at $50,000 and pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 2.

Maria Dirino, 49, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on June 2015 charge in Oak Bluffs of leaving the scene of property damage. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 2.

Elijah S. Dubin, 38, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Jan. 4 charges in West Tisbury of assault and battery on a family/household member, strangulation/suffocation, attempted murder, rape, and malicious destruction of property more than $250. According to court documents bail has been revoked; hearing scheduled for Feb. 17.

Jan. 6

Brittany Barry, 29, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Jan. 6 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop/yield. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 13.

Jan. 9

Thomas E. McDonald, 46, of Brockton, arraigned on Jan. 7 charge in West Tisbury of assault and battery on a family/household member. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 16.

Catherine A. Todd, 23, of Oak Bluffs, had Jan. 15, 2016 charge in Edgartown of conspiracy to violate drug law undismissed and returned to trial list; in July defendant was placed on pretrial probation until Jan. 19 on the charge. According to court documents allegedly failed to comply with terms of probation, case was dismissed and then undismissed and returned to trial list. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 2.

Samantha A. Westray, 25, of Wilton, Conn., arraigned on Jan. 7 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 23.

Jan. 12

Lori L. Dagostino, 46, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on June 1 charge in Vineyard Haven of uninsured motor vehicle, continued without a finding for one month and victim/witness assessment waived. Charge of leaving scene of property damage dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and found not responsible on unregistered motor vehicle.

Christy L. Dobson, 36, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Jan. 9 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and marked lanes violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 13.

Elijah S. Dubin, 38, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Jan. 9 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating an abuse prevention order and, in a separate case, violating an abuse prevention order on Jan. 8 in West Tisbury. Bail set at $1,000 in each case, pretrial hearings scheduled for Feb. 17.

Edmund J. Lemoine, 52, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on Dec. 17 charges in Oak Bluffs of leaving scene of property damage (street sign), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and using motor vehicle without authority. According to police report filed in court, charges stem from alleged one-car crash on Sea View avenue. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 13.

Sasa Markovic, 27, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on Nov. 2 charge in Edgartown of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, continued without a finding for one year, ordered to pay $300 in fees and $50 monthly probation services fee. Found responsible on speeding in violation of special regulation, ordered to pay $200 fine/assessment. Charge of failure to stop for police dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and found not responsible on marked lanes violation.

Erin McWeeney, 21, of Walpole, admitted to sufficient facts on August 7 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, continued without a finding for one year and ordered to pay $600 in fees and $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete 24-day driver alcohol education fee and to lose license for 45 days, defendant allowed to travel. Charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle dismissed upon request of the commonwealth and found not responsible on marked lanes violation.

James E. Wilson, 30, of Templeton, had Nov. 6, 2015 charge in Oak Bluffs of larceny more than $250 dismissed upon request of the commonwealth. In separate case, Nov. 6, 2015 charge in Oak Bluffs of larceny from a building dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Jan. 13

Michael T. Bresnahan, 19, of Atlanta, Ga., found not guilty in bench trial on July 11 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving. Found responsible on marked lanes violation, ordered to pay $100 fine/assessment. Charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and person under 21 possessing liquor dismissed upon request of commonwealth (failure to prosecute), and found not responsible on possessing open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Samuel Scott, 26, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on Nov. 3 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees and $65 monthly probation services fee, to complete 24-day driver alcohol education fee, to lose license for 45 days and undergo 24Q evaluation. Found not responsible on possessing open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation.

Joseph A. Tran, 27, of Manchester, N.H., arraigned on July 17 charges in Edgartown of assault and battery and disorderly conduct. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 24.
