The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Feb. 16

Sofia V. Esnal, 34, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Dec. 18 charges in Edgartown of breaking and entering a building in daytime for a felony and two counts of larceny more than $250 (computer, perfume/makeup). Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 17.

Thomas Furino, 60, of Edgartown, arraigned on Feb. 13 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 17.

Dennis K. Kaeka, 53, of Vineyard Haven, admitted to sufficient facts on Dec. 8, 2015 charges in West Tisbury of drunken driving and negligent operation of motor vehicle, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to complete 24-day driver alcohol education program, lose license for 45 days, and pay $850 in fees and $65 monthly probation services fee. Charge of disorderly conduct dismissed upon request of commonwealth and found not responsible on marked lanes violation.

William F. McDevitt Jr., 54, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty on Sept. 18 charges in Vineyard Haven of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, ordered to pay $650 in fines/assessments. Charge of assault and battery on police officer dismissed upon request of commonwealth.

Maicon Patricio, 34, of Edgartown, arraigned on Feb. 14 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating abuse prevention order. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 17.

Catherine A. Todd, 23, of Oak Bluffs, sentenced to one year of probation on May 11, 2015 charge in Oak Bluffs of leaving the scene of property damage, ordered to go directly from court to an inpatient facility and remain there until professionally discharged. In three separate cases, Jan. 15, 2016 charge in Edgartown of conspiracy to violate drug law, April 14 charges in Oak Bluffs of larceny by check less than $250, forgery of check and utter false check, and April 11 charges in Oak Bluffs of larceny by check less than $250, forgery of check and utter false check were all dismissed upon request of commonwealth after being returned to trial list. According to court documents cases were closed and then re-opened after probation violation.

Feb. 17

Elijah S. Dubin, 38, of West Tisbury, pleaded guilty on Jan. 4 charge in West Tisbury of assault and battery on a family/household member, sentenced to two and a half years in a house of correction, six months to serve and 40 days of jail credit, balanced suspended and placed on probation for three years, ordered to pay $65 monthly probation services fee. Ordered to attended intimate partner abuse education program, comply with existing restraining order, GPS monitoring, and counseling as mandated by probation. Admitted to sufficient facts on charge of strangulation or suffocation, continued without finding for three years and ordered to pay $90 victim/witness assessment fee. Charges of attempted murder, rape, and malicious destruction of property more than $250 dismissed upon request of commonwealth. In two separate cases, Jan. 8 charge in West Tisbury of violating abuse prevention order and Jan. 9 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating abuse prevention order were both dismissed at request of commonwealth.
