The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

 

August 11

Eric C. Rossol, 56, of Groton, found not guilty in bench trial on April 2 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving. Charge of negligent operation of motor vehicle dismissed upon request of commonwealth and found not responsible on marked lanes violation and speeding in violation of special regulation.

Sept. 28

Tiffany J. Rebello, 33, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Sept. 27 charge in Vineyard Haven of violating abuse prevention order. Pretrial hearing continued to Nov. 10.

Oct. 6

Benoit P. Baldwin, 42, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Sept. 20, 2016 charge in West Tisbury of possessing child pornography. Bail set at $100,000 with further conditions of GPS monitoring, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew, and surrendering passport if bail is posted. According to police report filed in court, charge is result of investigation by the Mass State Police Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 10.

Sharon H. Fisher, 50, of Vineyard Haven, had August 17 charge in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery on family/household member dismissed upon request of commonwealth.

Milan Grbovic, 25, of Edgartown, arraigned on Oct. 3 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of motor vehicle, and speeding, rate of speed greater than was reasonable or proper. According to police report filed in court charge stems from two-car accident on Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 13.

David C. Hawkins, 56, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty on July 15 charge in Oak Bluffs of boat refusing to stop/identify for officer, ordered to pay $100 fine/assessment. Charge of trespassing dismissed upon request of commonwealth.

Timothy A. Higgins, 34, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Sept. 29 charge in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery on family/household member. Bail set at $500 and pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 20.
