The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Oct. 6

Jared C. McCauley, 24, of Hudson, N.H., arraigned on August 26 charges in Edgartown of negligent operation of motor vehicle and leaving scene of property damage. According to police report filed in court charge stem from motor vehicle crash on Beach Road. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 17.

Jasmine M. Robinson, 21, of West Tisbury, arraigned on Oct. 5 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on family/household member and vandalizing property (cell phone). Bail set at $500 and pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 13.

Oct. 13

Jorge Cruz, 47, of Chilmark, arraigned on May 6, 2006 charge in Oak Bluffs of trafficking in cocaine. Bail set at $25,000 and hearing scheduled for Nov. 13.

James F. Gibson, 41, of Sarasota, Fla., arraigned on Oct. 6 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on family/household member. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 15.

Michael J. Murphy, 65, of Vineyard Haven, will have Sept. 16 charge in Oak Bluffs of disturbing the peace dismissed if $150 in costs is paid by Nov. 15. Charges of disorderly conduct on public conveyance and municipal bylaw or ordinance violation dismissed upon request of commonwealth.

Desmond D. Pope, 34, of Boston, will have Sept. 2 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving dismissed upon request of commonwealth, defendant consents. Admitted to sufficient facts on charge of negligent operation of motor vehicle, continued without a finding for one year and ordered to pay $800 in fees. Found not responsible on charge of state highway — wrong way.

James F. Pringle, 76, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on Sept. 26 charge in Oak Bluffs of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, continued without a finding for one year and ordered to pay $300 in fees and complete 20 hours of community service. Charge of drunken driving dismissed upon request of commonwealth and found not responsible on improper operation of motor vehicle.

Graciano D. Rocha, 29, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Oct. 7 charges in Oak Bluffs of resisting arrest, unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, and unregistered motor vehicle. In a separate case, arraigned on Oct. 10 charge in Edgartown of operating motor vehicle with license suspended. Bail set at $1,000 in that case. Pretrial hearings scheduled for Dec. 7.

Derek Strzepa, 28, of Pittsfield will have August 18 charge in Edgartown of disorderly conduct dismissed if $300 in costs paid forthwith. Charge of assault and battery dismissed upon request of commonwealth.

Josiah I. Sylva, 38, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Oct. 6 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, child endangerment while drunken driving, negligent operation of motor vehicle and marked lanes violation. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 17.
