The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Oct. 27

Richard C. Atkinson, 25, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Oct. 24 charge in West Tisbury of assault with dangerous weapon (kitchen knife). Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 4.

Keith M. Ramsey, 32, of Supply, N.C., admitted sufficient facts on Oct. 25 charge in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, continued without finding for one year. Ordered to pay $600 in fees and $65 monthly probation services fee, complete driver alcohol education program and lose license for 45 days. Charge of negligent operation of motor vehicle dismissed upon request of commonwealth and found not responsible on speeding in violation of special regulation.

Nov. 3

Anthony M. Cardoza, 27, of Edgartown, arraigned on Oct. 29 charges in Edgartown of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Bail set at $500 and pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 20.

Edson L. Deoliveira Jr., 36, of Vineyard Haven, pleaded guilty on July 29 charges in Edgartown of unlicensed operation of motor vehicle and negligent operation of motor vehicle, sentenced to one year in house of correction, suspended two years and placed on probation for two years. Ordered to pay $500 fine, complete 48 hours of community service, and not to drive without a license. Charge of operating motor vehicle with license suspended dismissed upon request of commonwealth.

Benjamin Dunbar, 34, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Oct. 31 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving second offense, negligent operation of motor vehicle, crosswalk violation, and speeding, rate of speed exceeding posted limit. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 4.

Thomas Grimm, 26, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on August 1 charges in Oak Bluffs of leaving scene of property damage, negligent operation of motor vehicle, and trespassing with motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 29.

Vander V. Luiz, 29, of Edgartown, arraigned on Oct. 29 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, negligent operation of motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, and child endangerment while OUI. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 4.

Zadoc E. Moreis, 31, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Oct. 29 charges in Edgartown of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Bail set at $500 and pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 20.

Kevin E. Peters, 59, of Vineyard Haven, arraigned on Oct. 28 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving and negligent operation of motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 4.

Matthew D. Whyte, 28, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on Oct. 27 charge in Oak Bluffs of possessing a class B drug (four grams of cocaine). Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 20.
