The Vineyard swim teams completed their seasons on Saturday at the Division 2 State Championships at Boston University. Both the boys and girls teams finished their best seasons yet; the boys team finished 18th out of 42 teams and the girls team finished 38th out of 52 teams.

Freshman Gabby Carr finished 13th in her first race, becoming the first Vineyard swimmer to individually place in the top 16 at the sectionals or states. Other standout efforts for the girls team included freshman Yayla DeChiara, senior Lia Potter in her final Vineyard high school race, and seventh grader Annabelle Brothers.

The boys team was led by senior Evan Sauter who finished 20th overall in the 100 butterfly and 18th in the 100 backstroke. Big contributors to the team score included senior Harrison Dorr, eighth grader Ruairi Mullin, and eighth grader Oliver Dorr.
