This weekend the Island Community Chorus is digging deeply for a concert highlighted by Vivaldi’s classic Beatus Vir, composed for double choir and orchestra. The sheet music alone for the piece is 82-pages long.

The chorus will present two concerts directed by Peter Boak; one on Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. and the other on Sunday, April 8 at 3 p.m. Both performances will be held at the Performing Arts Center at the regional high school.

The chorus will be joined onstage by an ensemble of 13 musicians on strings, wind instruments and organ. Additional pieces include Deep River, Down to the River to Pray, The Water is Wide, O My Luve’s Like a Red, Red Rose, and The Seal Lullaby.

Tickets are $15 for adults and free for students.
