The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

April 27

Garrett J. Rice, 29, of Edgartown, arraigned on April 26 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery with dangerous weapon (car door). Bail set at $500 and pretrial hearing scheduled for May 29.

Tekla R. Silva, 56, of West Tisbury, arraigned on April 27 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, operating under the influence of drugs (prescription medicine), operating motor vehicle with license suspended, no inspection/sticker, possessing open container of alcohol in motor vehicle, and negligent operation of motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for May 29.

April 30

Fernando Alencar, 40, of Edgartown, pleaded guilty on April 30 charge in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, ordered to pay $500 fine/assessment. Charges of negligent operation of motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of motor vehicle dismissed upon request of commonwealth and found not responsible on marked lanes violation and improper turn.

May 4

Tywane Burse, 38, of Oak Bluffs, arraigned on April 7 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on family/household member. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 22.

Sergio Lopes Viera, 42, of Edgartown, arraigned on April 29 charges in Vineyard Haven of drunken driving, negligent operation of motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulation, and possessing open container of alcohol in motor vehicle. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 21.

Bryan M. Pirani, 22, of Holden, arraigned on June 18, 2017 charges in Edgartown of credit card fraud more than $250 and identity fraud. According to police report filed in court, allegedly used a relative’s credit card to make fraudulent purchases online. Pretrial hearings scheduled for June 18.
