Dec. 28

Bernard J. Lebarre, 57, of Edgartown, was arraigned on Dec. 21, 2018 charges in Edgartown of drunken driving, 2nd offense, marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and driving without possession of a license. Released on $500 bail. Pretrial hearing set for Jan. 25.

Jan. 3

David C. Murphy, 63, of Vineyard Haven, plead not guilty to Dec. 26, 2018 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, 3rd offense and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Released on $500 bail. Pretrial hearing set for Feb. 19.

Jan. 10

Joao Orcutt, 35, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on Jan. 7, 2019 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on family/household member. Further condition to abide by all active restraining order conditions. Pretrial hearing set for Feb. 22. Mark. S. Boudreau, 65, of Chicopee was arraigned on Jan. 9 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating a municipal by-law ordinance (possess open container of alcohol). Ordered to complete 8 hours of community service. Case to be dismissed if restitution completed by Feb. 13.

Mark T. Guthrie, 64, of Oak Bluffs was arraigned on Jan. 9 charges in Oak Bluffs of violating a municipal by-law ordinance (possess open container of alcohol) and littering. Ordered to pay $150 in fines. Charge of littering dismissed upon request of the commonwealth.

Beth Butler, 53, of Oak Bluffs, admitted to sufficient facts on July 7, 2017 charge in Edgartown of larceny over $250, continued without a finding for one year. Ordered to pay $90 victim/witness assessment and not contact victim. Restitution deemed paid.

Jan. 11

Mason Buddy, 81, of Marblehead, was arraigned on Jan. 10 charge in Oak Bluffs of larceny over $1,200 by a single scheme. Pretrial hearing set for Jan. 25. Further condition that defendant have no contact with or abuse alleged victim. According to police report filed in court, defendant took for personal use approximately $25,000 that he told the victim he was going to invest.

Jan. 14

Rachel R. Wild, 36, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Jan. 12 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault on family/household member, assault w/ dangerous weapon (clothing iron), resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer. Pretrial hearing set for Feb. 22. Released on $500 bail and further condition to not abuse alleged victim.

Jan. 17

Jeremy T. Smith, 39, of Wareham, was found guilty in a jury trial of March 11, 2018 charge in Edgartown of negligent operation of motor vehicle. Sentenced to one year in a house of corrections, sentence suspended for 18 months. Placed on probation for 18 months, ordered to pay $300 in fines, and remain alcohol free with screens. Found responsible for marked lanes violation, filed 60 days. Mistrial on charge of drunking driving, 3rd offense. New trial set for May 15.
