The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $344,264 for the business week ending on Friday, August 5, 2019. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of West Tisbury, where two transactions resulted in $184,800. Four transactions earned $74,471 in Edgartown, and 5 transactions generated $47,013 in Tisbury. Aquinnah, Chilmark and Oak Bluffs each had one qualifying transaction, netting $10,580, $25,200 and $2,200 respectively.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 3,260 acres of Vineyard land.
