With the existential threat of climate change rising like an endless tide, I was deeply disappointed when a community I consider to be in tune with this crisis voted down the offshore wind farm. I think one missing piece of your wind farm coverage was this: what are the best, most comprehensive arguments against the offshore wind farm? For example, fishing was opaquely alluded to. How will a cable a few feet wide impact fishing over an area of many square miles? I don’t ask this pejoratively. I really want to know. However, if the real reason is something as silly as aesthetics, then I would consider that unconscionable. It would be great if the Gazette helped more deeply illuminate the issue and the perspectives around it.
