Fourth of July weekend and some had their heat on. It was damp, raining, and cold. I know it was the low 60s and we pray for that in the spring but after a heatwave and then clouds and rain, it was cold. But fear not: the forecast is saying we will be back in the 80s soon.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Hugo Delhougne, who celebrated on July 6; Assis De Oliveira, Jhon Moreira and Noa Nascimento on July 7; Alexa Sawers on July 8; and to Emily Gilley, Erin Gilley, Thomas Mullen and Thais Pereira, who all celebrate their day today, July 9.

Special birthday wishes go out to Richard (Stony) Stone, who will celebrate his 76th birthday on July 10. I hope your day is a special one.

For the second year in a row, my street and yard are quiet. The parade usually stages at the school. I host the colonial Navy in my yard and have lunch with them and have the pleasure of listening to them practice. I miss that commotion and seeing all the people going by to either drop off or pick up someone in the parade. I drove the town band in the parade and got to see many people there. We can only hope that we will be back to a normal Fourth of July next year.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
