The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Oct. 21

Odetta A. Rogers Clarke, 60, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on Oct. 18 charges in Oak Bluffs of assault and battery on a family or household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a person who is over 60 years old or disabled. Defendant entered pleas of not guilty. Defendant released on payment of $500 bail. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 19.

Oct. 28

Anthony B. Jackson, 43, of Edgartown, was arraigned on an Oct. 27 charge in Edgartown of assault on a family or household member. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 16.

Nov. 3

William S. Sanfilippo, 58, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on an Oct. 28 charge in Oak Bluffs of violating an abuse prevention order. Bail set at $200 and with further condition to abide by all restraining order conditions. Defendant held at Dukes County correctional facility. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 28.

Michael T. Governo, 56, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Nov. 1 charges in Vineyard Haven of a subsequent offense of assault and battery on a family or household member, intimidating a witness, juror or police or court official and violating an abuse prevention order. Bail set at $250 and with further condition to stay away from and have no contact with alleged victim. Defendant held at Dukes County correctional facility. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 2. 

Nov. 4

Ryan Cushing, 30, of Edgartown, was arraigned on an Oct. 27 charge in Edgartown of larceny under $1,200 by false pretence. Defendant released upon payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 30.

Sean Steves, 59, whom the court lists as homeless, was arraigned on a Nov. 3 charge in Edgartown of possession of a Class B drug (cocaine). Defendant released on personal recognizance and with notice of the right to be subject to drug testing. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 27, 2023.

Nov. 7

Corey S. Smith, 29, of Edgartown was arraigned on a Nov. 5 charge in Edgartown of assault with a dangerous weapon. Defendant entered plea of not guilty. Defendant released on personal recognizance and with further condition to continue treatment as recommended by providers, including medical compliance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Dec. 7.
