The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.

Nov. 21

Summer Sanderson, 24, of Chilmark, was arraigned on a Nov. 20 charge in Oak Bluffs of assault with a dangerous weapon. Defendant released on payment of $100 bail and $150 counsel fee, and with further condition to stay away from alleged victim. Discovery compliance and jury selection scheduled for Jan. 30, 2023.

Dec. 1

David Caseau, 66, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a Nov. 22 charge in Vineyard Haven of larceny valued at under $1,200 and Nov. 29 charges in Vineyard Haven of larceny valued at under $1,200 and defacing property. Defendant entered pleas of not guilty. Defendant released on personal recognizance and with further condition to stay away from property where alleged crime took place. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 30, 2023.

Eric Costa, 48, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on a Nov. 25 charge in Edgartown of malicious destruction of property valued at more than $1,200. Defendant released on payment of $2,500 bail and $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 3, 2023.

Dec. 2

Elijah Matthews, 23, of Aquinnah, was arraigned on a Dec. 1 charge in Aquinnah of assault and battery. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Jan. 23, 2023.
