The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.
Jan. 12
Gabriel Vieira Da Silva, 19, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a Jan. 11 charge in Oak Bluffs of possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (cocaine). Defendant released on payment of $1,040 bail and $150 counsel fee, with further conditions to surrender passport within 24 hours and check with probation twice weekly. Pretrial set for Feb. 9.
Jan. 13
Jeremy R. Giles, 32, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on Oct. 10, 2022 charges in Oak Bluffs of leaving the scene of property damage, negligent operation of motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulations and a marked lanes violation. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Probable disposition scheduled for Feb. 24.
Jan. 19
Eduardo Luis D. Filho, 30, of Edgartown, was arraigned on an Oct. 6, 2019 charge of rape in Edgartown. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee and with special condition to stay away from and have no contact with alleged victim. Probable cause hearing scheduled for March 30.
Jan. 27
Catherine L. Clairmont, 66, of Concord, was arraigned on a June 18, 2022 charge in Edgartown of trespassing. Pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 23.
Zander C. Amaral, 19, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Oct. 14, 2022 charges in Oak Bluffs of failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, speeding and violation of a special regulation. Released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 27.
