The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.
Jan. 30
A pretrial hearing took place to review the case against David Caseau, 66, of Vineyard Haven, on Nov. 29, 2022 charges in Vineyard Haven of two charges of larceny under $1,200 and defacing property. Alien warning given. Defendant admitted to sufficient facts on one charge of larceny under $1,200 but case continued without finding until Jan. 29, 2023. Defendant ordered to pay $313.97 restitution fee and $50 V/W assessment. Second charge of larceny under $1,200 dismissed upon request of the Commonwealth and with defendant’s consent. Charge of defacement of property dismissed upon request of the Commonwealth and with defendant’s consent. Continuation for payment (restitution) scheduled for March 3. Continuation without finding determination scheduled to terminate Jan. 2024. Defendant filed motion to revise and revoke on Feb. 1.
Feb. 10
Cynthia Seymour, 64, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on Feb. 9 charges in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery and assault and battery on a person over the age of 60 or disabled. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for March 3.
