The following cases were heard in Edgartown district court.
May 22
Akiet A. Anderson, 22, who the court lists as homeless, was arraigned on a May 20 charge in Vineyard Haven of trespassing. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Charge dismised on recommendation of the probation department. Case closed.
William Hermann, 21, of Oak Bluffs, was arraigned on May 19 charges in Oak Bluffs of defacing property and disorderly conduct. Charge of defacing property dismissed on recommendation of the probation department. Charge of disorderly conduct dismissed upon the request of the Commonwealth. Case closed.
May 26
Nicole S. Cleary, 41, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on a March 5 charge in Vineyard Haven of assault and battery on a family or household member. Defendant entered plea of not guilty. Defendant released on personal recognizance and counsel fee waived. Oral motion to join case with 23/118 was allowed. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 24.
May 30
Nikolai Anderson, 20, of Holliston, was arraigned on May 29 charges in Edgartown of shoplifting by asportation and receiving stolen property valued at less than $1,200. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for June 30.
Keano Cole, 36, of Vineyard Haven, was arraigned on May 27 charges in Oak Bluffs of drunken driving, a marked lanes violation and possessing an open container of alochol in a motor vehicle. Defendant released on personal recognizance. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 17.
Daquan R. Sugar, 27, who the court lists as homeless, was arraigned on August 30, 2022 charges in Vineyard Haven of disorderly conduct on a public conveyance, threatening to commit a crime, assault and battery on an individual over the age of 60 or disabled, evading taxi fare and assault on a bus driver. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 10.
Anastasia Tucker, 26, of Beverly, N.J., was arraigned on a May 28 charge in Edgartown of assault and battery on a family or household member. Defendant released on personal recognizance and payment of $150 counsel fee. Pretrial hearing scheduled for July 10.
